I am very pleasantly surprised of my experience here. It is a small restuarant with plenty of parking. Service was attentive and place was clean. Atmosphere wasnt anything special, but good for a chinese restaurant. Came here with my wife and 2 kids and we ordered 4 dishes. 1. Dry pepper fish filet - Spicy dish with fried fish filet and it was so tasty and good! 2. Salt and Pepper fish filet - this was for the kids since this isnt spicy. Kids loved it and ate it up! 3. Beef noodle soup. An authentic noodle soup that had good flavor and beef was so tender and delicious 4. Shrimp and Eggplant in garlic sauce. My favorite dish out of the 4 and I absolutely loved it! Definitely coming back here

As another place I frequent often, Spicy Home Tasty has some of the best tasting authentic Chinese dishes (in addition to Americanized Chinese). I recommend starting out with the soup (that is good for a couple meals for one person or for a couple people to share). It comes in a separate serving bowl that you would ladle into your own smaller bowl. (Family Style) My favorite is the hot and sour soup, but for those who don’t like spice that much I would recommend the wonton and egg drop soup combination (special request). I got the dry pot as my main meal, something they are well known for. It is a bit on the spicy side so if you are not an adventurous eater, I would recommend asking for it mild. It has a delicious mix of wood ear mushrooms, lotus root, peppers, and others in addition to your protein of choice (I recommend beef if this is your first hotpot). Portions are fair, although they are not exceptionally large. The wait staff is very fast, and have a lot of knowledge to share if you have any questions. The atmosphere is average, but otherwise the food quality and taste is exceptional. All in all this is a wonderful and authentic restaurant that I would definitely recommend if you like Chinese food. Come see for yourself!

The best Chinese food in the area. The staff is always pleasant and happy to see us. Our daughter's have even become privileged guests as they are always asked about when we go without them. This might be my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood overall.

I heard good buzz about this place so I finally stopped in. Oh. My. Goodness. I will be back! I cannot remember having better Chinese food anywhere. Amazing taste, freshness, and quality. Decor is nice, date night worthy. Service was prompt and attentive. Portions were huge - I'm a big guy but still took home half. Lunch tomorrow will be amazing.

Not your typical Chinese restaurant and I'm more than totally cool with that (especially since this area needs more Asian restaurants that isn't another Americanized Chinese takeout type of joint). Whenever I'm craving Chinese food but can't get to Chinatown, this is where I go. Their food - at least the dishes we've so far ordered - is cook-to-order, fresh, and tasty. When you swing by, don't miss out on the dumplings in chili sauce and pea leaves dish. We order both every time.

I had reviewed this three years ago. The ownership has changed and the quality of the food took a huge plunge. I tried is two days ago, and I have to say the restaurant has made improvements to their food and menu. The menu has been updated to reflect their current selection, and they even added some new dishes and variations to older dishes. I order the dry hot pot with fish, and sauteed bok choy. The dry hot pot was much better, although still not as large as it had been years ago. But the quality was excellent, and the amount was pretty good. The dish had plenty of fish, and vegetables. It was not overly spicy either. The bok choy has a bit crunchy, and not too soggy...but flavorful. Overall I would say it has improved. They should consider updating the decor. That would add to the change in the food quality.

Love, love, love this place! We went for lunch and couldn't be more happy with our decision to do so. We picked this place from the reviews on Google. The dumplings ARE very good. The food was very, very fresh. Staff was attentive without hovering. Prices were very reasonable and I'd like to go for dinner to see how the portions are and what if any specials they might offer. We didn't order anything but tried and true selections, dumplings, soup, beef with broccoli and chicken in a brown sauce with vegetables. Everything was hot, just the right spice level and the veggies were fresh, fresh, fresh. Had enough to take some home except for the dumplings! Good location with decent parking and seating inside was well spaced out and very clean. Highly recommended!
